today we left for a big ole road trip to yellowstone national park! we made it to columbia, missouri tonight and plan to make it to denver, colorado tomorrow. we brought e.v. with us and I think she is going to sleep the entire way. since we weren’t too sure what to expect, we packed way too much and a ton of food in hopes that we won’t have to eat out too much. oh, and we got a fancy rental car that picks your nose for you.
so far we ate…
1. pumpkin chocolate chip muffins
2. celery & p-nut butter
3. pink lady apples…sweet!
4. really salty pretzels
5. coffee, water, and jones soda special halloween flavors- candy corn & spider cider (they were awesome)
6. granola bars
7. and we are about to eat some pastrami or turkey sandwiches, chips, and beer. (not on the road…)
strange topics of conversation…
1. sun roof vs. moon roof (sun roofs are pointless)
2. the proper way to hold your breath
3. why this string cheese isn’t stringy
car games played…
1. napoleon dynamite mad libs
listened to…
1. harry potter 6 on cd
2. company sengudo (sp?)
saw…
1. 5 vipers in kentucky. 2 of the plates read “snake” & “sssss”
2. nashville, illinois
3. “snake” & “sssss” vipers again in missouri
4. the GIANT arch in st. louis
i think kentucky is the most boring state to drive thru… it started to get more interesting about 58 miles from st. louis on 1-64W.

Are you planning to drive through Kansas and/or Nebraska? Depending on where in those states you go, you may find them even more boring than KY! Of course, the scenery is enough different from what you’re used to in TN that it might not be totally boring…just very flat!
So good to see you bloggin’ again. And I’m glad to see you made it to Columbia last night. Did you get a chance to look around in Columbia any? Trey said that was one of their favorite places in their last road trip…he said it felt reminiscent of Asheville, NC.
Keep us up-to-date as much as you can. I love hearing what you’re doing.
Love, The Mom
So far we’ve only seen enough of the town to find our way to the Hy-Vee super grocerie to buy another loaf of bread. However, by the look of what food they were selling (organic bananas, etc…), the size of the grocerie store (the size of our super wal-mart, but only food), and the peole in line with me at 10:30 on a thursday night (craft center-ish/ goth tattooed) I can tell that the town is probably pretty hip.
However, that’s like judging Cookeville by Interstate Dr.!
I’m not sure what “famous” landmarks we’ll see today…The Arch is alot bigger than I remember. And, I finally understand why Mom & Pop got lost in St. Louis so easily!

Yea Aaron and Mary
Glad to see you blogging. You’re right, EV looks like she is very sleepy/bored. Max was the same way.
Take breaks when you get a chance. Get out and stretch and let EV bark and sniff at things.
I thought that you were listening to Harry Potter 5. You said Harry Potter 6 on your post. “You can’t start a new box of cereal until you have finished the old box”
Interesting liscense plates. Hmmm… Maybe you should have one that says “Food mmm”.
OK, wear your coats
The Dad
