aaron is a morning person/ capers

I have always known that aaron has a much easier time peeling himself out of bed in the morning than I do. It’s really a fantastic thing. He is super cool about being quiet so he won’t wake me up, takes out e.v., feeds our cats, and usually makes me breakfast and coffee. You really couldn’t ask for a better person to wake up with everyday. I dare you to find one.
I have also noticed that the earlier he wakes up, the more energy he has…this is usually accompanied by many many songs (made up on the spot…about how sleepy I look, what he’s cooking, how big e.v.’s poop was, etc.)
This morning was specifically fantastic. We had to drop e.v. off with someone for the weekend (see reason below) early this morning. By early I mean I had to wake up at about 7am…I like to pretend the world doesn’t exist before 8. I was trudging around like a troll and now that I think of it, e.v. was pretty sleepy too. So, we got in the car to drive to smithville, and the songs started. I am very used to this since we have made a bizillion early morning mini road trips together. This mornings songs…well I’m not brave enough to recite them for you…lets put it this way. I realized I would be very sad without his hilarious, disgusting, creative songs every morning.
here’s the below…
aaron is testing for his 4th dan/degree black belt tomorrow which basically kicks uber ass. Not a lot of people make it that high…we are pretty lucky to have as many as we do in our organization.
mmmkay, now for the capers.
this is a short story, well I intend it to be. I have twice ordered lox & cream cheese on a bagel. Each time at a different bagel shop. This breakfast creation usually comes sprinkled with capers…it says so on the menu. The first time, the employee who was destroying my breakfast said “uhhh, whuts a capper?”…(aaron and I now very often call capers, cappers). The second time, the very sweet employee behind the counter said something like “okay, so you are having the loxs & cream cheese with carp?” Lucky for her that was today, and I was a sleepy troll so I just replied “yes.”
What’s the deal?

p.s. happy friday the 13th.

Good luck with 4th dan test. Sorry I won’t be there. Gotta finish papers for graduation. Funny songs are good to hear when you wake up. It causes laughter to commence and that induces good, happy feelings in the brain (mmm…brains…)

Remember to do forms in the driveway at midnight.

What a good post, Mary! Go, Aaron…see you tomorrow! Love you both,

  • Angela is the morning person between us, but she’s not particularly quite about it. I pretend the reason she tromps around the bedroom at 7:00 am is because she just likes my company.

I do, however, love to sing made-up songs to our dogs. I plan on making an album someday of lounge-jazz songs about Schnauzers.
